This week’s How I Met Your Mother had the most laugh-out-loud moments when Canadian Robyn(Colbie Smulders) contemplated becoming an American and Ted (Josh Radnor) and Marshall (Jason Segal) decided to relive a road trip to Chicago for some terribly gross-looking pizza.
So where was Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) and Lily (Alyson Hannigan) within these two situations? Barney was alongside Robyn, preparing her for the American citizenship test. And Lily was tagging along with Marshall and annoying Ted.
The laugh-out-loud moments involve a fictional drink called,”Tantrum” (which is a popular energy drink) and Robyn’s Canadian nature. Through Robyn’s situation, the audience learns more about her and finally sees her relationship with Barney as something other than sexual.
Marshall and Lily continued to be the perfect couple of the show; however, their closeness appeared to be disrupting Marshall and Ted’s friendship. Ted was upset when Marshall invited Lily for the road trip, and the road trip lost its spontaneous, fun appeal when Lily constantly asked the boys to pull-over so that she could pee and they all ended up staying at an upscale Bed & Breakfast.
As always, every issue introduced at the beginning of the show was solved by the end. Robyn decided to be a Canadian American and Marshall realized that he needed to make more time for Sparky. . . opps, I mean Ted.
